Without proper recovery (such as sleep, stretching, hydration, and other forms of therapy… see below) you could be leaving progress on the table and asking for injury. Let our coaches keep you in tip top shape and training hard with these recovery and restoration-focused sessions.

Note, these sessions are NOT used to treat serious injuries. Rather, we recommend these sessions to individuals who are healthy, yet subject their body’s to serious wear and tear; because squatting hundreds of pounds, training 3-5 times per week, and being an every day superhero isn’t easy!

Our Muscle and Joint Restoration Techniques

Below are just a few of the techniques our recovery and restoration specialist will use. Each session is an all-inclusive therapy session that will include a variety of techniques and methods to address muscle tightness and pain, increase range of motion, restore joint mobility, and improve recovery.

Tempering

Body tempering is a form of soft tissue mobilization performed by rolling weighted cylinders across muscles and/or joints. Think of this as foam rolling on steroids! Athletes who have tried body tempering will also tell you that foam rolling doesn’t even compare to the feel of body tempering. When performed properly, body tempering is more intense than foam rolling without being more painful.

Percussion Therapy

Percussion therapy accelerates and enhances the repair of muscle fiber by providing rapid bursts of pressure in concentrated, short-duration pulses deep into the tissues of the body. This enhances the flow of blood to different critical areas, allowing for pain relief and subsequently improving function and range of motion. It also provides a gentle stretch that in turn enhances flexibility, performance, and physical response.


Band Traction

This method can improve the joint’s range of motion and increase the joint space while also working on the strength and stability of the joint as well. This is key for lifters who squat and deadlift, and/or individuals who often sit for prolonged periods of time throughout their day. Band traction can be done on the hips, shoulders, and other main joints of the body to help decrease joint stiffness and pain.

Manual Adjustments

Manual therapy, or manipulative therapy, is a physical treatment primarily used by physical therapists, physiotherapists to treat musculoskeletal pain and disability; it most includes kneading and manipulation of muscles, joint mobilization and joint manipulation. It includes but is also not limited to other forms of stretching, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.
